Juan Nieves Burgos - Plastic Artist

Artist, designer and art teacher. Born in San Juan, Puerto

Rico, in 1965, parents shit. He began his artistic training from

child, since an early age and played among the brushes work

studying art and commercial design. In 1980 he finished his studies as

commercial artist and in 1983 he continued studies at the University

American (Poly) San Germán campus. In the Department of

Art of the compound studied etching, engraving, drawing and painting. Thus obtained

his bachelor's degree in Art Education. In 1986 begins as

commercial art teacher in the Vocational School of Costa

Rich in Caguas. Simultaneously he was studying at the University of

Puerto Rico, Department of Education, making a

specialization in vocational education and workshops. During that time

worked as a teacher in various subjects such as technical drawing applied

screen printing, drawing, lettering and design. In 1990 the Department of

"> Education selected him for master's studies at the University

Inter-Metropolitan Campus in the area of Vocational Education

for students with special limitations.

By 1995 began to offer courses in design and mechanics in photo

Atlantic College in Guaynabo, at university level. At the same worked

art, commercial signage and graphic design. In 1997 he creates his own

Commercial signage workshop, under the name of J. Nieves Craft Signs in

the town of Humacao. This workshop was highly appreciated for its quality

artistic work in the advertising.

In 2005 he traveled to Orlando, Florida which provides for

work in workshops signage and graphic design, owned by his family.

In 2006 he was recruited by the company Weir Systems, Inc., as director

Art, where he created a department under the name of Sign CAD. In the

Today, in the workshop, is designed signage for the Department

Transportation United States.

In 2010 he returned to Puerto Rico, with a vision to return to his roots

art. In order to capture on canvas, large and interesting

aspects of our culture. This also includes phases of our customs,

flora and fauna the beautiful natural resources. In his works he uses his

Modern design skills for weaving techniques of realism,

attraction, texture, color and shapes. Creating a fresh, clean and

visually attractive, that will help enrich our culture and traditions

for future generations and therefore our people.

Once the artist notifies us the artwork is ready for shipment, the delivery will be in the following 24-72 hours, These delivery times may be altered by custom clearance events, especially when the origin country of the artwork belongs to a different cross-national agreement (EU,NAFTA,etc.). here. Shipments from Argentina, Colombia or Cuba need of a special authorization for the exportation of artworks, so it is important to have this into account when calculating the delivery date.


Bear in mind we are dealing with works of art, so they may be in an exhibition (actually, this is awesome!). Those artworks which are in an exhibition are usually displayed as “non-available”. In case the artwork has been put up for sale, take into account the artist would have to manage with the organization of the exhibition the return of the artwork in order to be able to realize the shipment.
